About Elevate Contracting

A Licensed and Insured Remodeling Company

Interior and exterior remodeling, with complete oversight from the first estimate through the final walkthrough.

Elevate Contracting is a fully licensed and insured construction company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. We handle residential remodeling inside and outside the house: kitchens, bathrooms, stairs, trim and flooring on the inside, and decks, porches, siding and rotted wood on the outside.

Every project runs under complete oversight, from the first estimate through the final walkthrough. We are responsible for the work from start to finish, and the scope is written down before anything begins.

Behind that are years of hands-on experience in finish carpentry and remodeling. You’ll see it in the details further down this page.

How We Handle Every Project

The same approach on a single handrail repair as on a full kitchen remodel.

Remodeling goes best when everyone knows, before the first day, what is being done, what it costs and who is responsible for it. That is how every Elevate Contracting project is set up, whatever its size.

Complete Oversight, Start to Finish

Every project runs under our oversight from the first estimate through the final walkthrough. We are responsible for the work from the first day to the last, until it is handed back to you complete.

Scope in Writing, Up Front

Before work starts, you get a written scope of what is and isn’t included. Anything added later is written down and approved before it’s built, so the final bill has no surprises.

Inside and Out, One Contract

Interior and exterior work are handled under the same contract. When a project touches both, like a kitchen and a back porch, it stays under one estimate, one scope and one point of responsibility.

The Details That Make Work Last

Small standards that decide whether the work still looks right years from now.

Most of what decides how long remodeling work lasts sits in places nobody looks at after install day. These four come up on almost every kind of project, from trim and stairs to floors and exterior wood.

Cut Ends Sealed Before Install

End grain soaks up water far faster than the face of a board. In a Charlotte summer, with humidity above 80 percent, an unsealed cut end on door casing or porch trim is where peeling paint and rot begin. Priming every cut end, and the back of the board, before it goes up closes that path.

Inside Corners Coped, Not Mitered

A mitered inside corner on baseboard or crown looks fine on install day. As indoor humidity swings through the year, the trim swells and shrinks, and the miter opens into a visible gap. A coped joint, with one piece cut to the profile of the other, stays tight. It takes longer, and it lasts.

Subfloors Checked Before Covering

A new floor is only as good as what it sits on. Flatness, loose spots and squeaks in the subfloor carry straight through to the finished surface. On crawl space homes, the moisture level of both the subfloor and the new wood matters just as much. Covering a problem with a nicer surface only hides it for a while.

Handrails Anchored Into Framing

A handrail has one job: to hold when someone grabs it. Brackets fastened only into drywall work loose over time. Brackets set into studs or into solid blocking behind the wall, with every newel post secured to the stair structure before the rail goes on, keep the rail solid for years.

We’re based in Charlotte and work on homes across the surrounding Piedmont, from Huntersville and Belmont to Waxhaw and Indian Trail. Houses here face the same conditions every year: long humid summers, heavy rain, red clay that holds water against the foundation, crawl spaces, and a bug season that runs from March into October. On exterior work, the material matters as much as the workmanship, and it has to be chosen with those conditions in mind.

Our work is mostly residential. We also take on commercial improvement projects, so call us to talk through what you need.
